Meghalaya Family Tour – Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki & Guwahati

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. En route, visit Elephant Falls and Mawkdok Dympep Valley. Upon arrival, explore NohKaLikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Arwah Cave, and Eco Park, offering spectacular views of the Bangladesh plains. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

After breakfast, continue exploring the natural wonders of Cherrapunji. Visit the breathtaking Wei Sawdong Falls, Kynrem Falls, Dainthlen Falls, Mawsawa Falls, Lyngksiar Falls, and Pung Iyer Falls. If time permits, enjoy additional viewpoints around Sohra before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

After breakfast, drive towards Shillong via Dawki and Mawlynnong. Enjoy a crystal-clear boating experience on the Umngot River at Dawki (subject to water level and weather conditions) and visit the Suspension Bridge. Visit the India–Bangladesh Border before proceeding to Mawlynnong, renowned as Asia’s Cleanest Village. Explore the village, visit the Living Root Bridge, and the Sky View Point and Bangladesh Border. Later, continue to Shillong for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Jowai. Visit the spectacular Krang Suri Falls, where you can enjoy boating in its crystal-clear turquoise waters. Continue to the scenic Phe Phe Falls, one of Meghalaya’s hidden gems, surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic cliffs. On your return journey, stop at the magnificent Laitlum Canyon to witness breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Return to Shillong for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit the mystical Mawphlang Sacred Forest, famous for its centuries-old trees, unique biodiversity, and fascinating Khasi traditions. Return to Shillong and continue with local sightseeing, including Shillong Peak, Air Force Museum, Golf Course, and Botanical Garden. Enjoy a leisurely evening at Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.

After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati. Upon arrival, visit the Assam State Museum, Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre and the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra. In the evening, enjoy a memorable Sunset or Dinner Cruise on the Brahmaputra River, offering beautiful views of the city skyline. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Early in the morning, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of India’s most important Shakti Peethas. After seeking blessings, transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey with wonderful memories of Meghalaya and Assam.
